Course Lessons

This course is made up of bitesize modules which you can do at your own time and pace. I designed each lesson with reflection in mind. Throughout each lesson, there are prompts to support you reflecting on what I am discussing. In addition to the video content, you will receive reflective worksheets after each lesson. These worksheets are essentially a self-coaching toolkit. To get the most out of this course, I highly encourage you to engage with this reflective practice.

Studying Hard Not Smart – Are you spending hours and hours studying and still not getting the results you truly deserve? This lesson will help uncover why some study methods like reading, highlighting, notetaking and mind maps might appear productive but don’t necessarily result in deep learning. We share tips and tricks on how to make small changes to your study approach that yield in deep learning and understanding and better overall course results.

Effective Learning Strategies – In this lesson we appreciate the most effective learning strategies, namely spaced retrieval practice. You will also be introduced to other effective learning strategies like elaboration and using words and visuals.

Reflective Practice in Learning – This lesson is about appreciating the importance of taking time for self-reflection on your study and learning. This tends to be an idea or concept that is new to many students. In this lesson, we will support you in understanding the benefits of self-refection and how to implement reflective learning into your study routine.

Creating a Study Plan – This final lesson brings everything we have learned together. This lesson support you with creating realistic goals for your study. We will look at how to set weekly goals and priorities for your study. This lesson will support you with setting out your daily study plan.

Once you have completed the course, you will be provided with further reflective worksheets that bring together everything you have learned. These worksheets will support you in making goals and plans to implement the changes you want to make.
